Seth Shaffer '20 Recruiting Profile

I have been running competitively since freshman year of high school, or the past 3 years. I knew I wanted to run ever since I was in elementary school, when all I would do was race kids at recess. The competition is so thrilling and is what drives my passion for running. My love for track grew exponentially in my junior year, as my times began to improve significantly and I became a candidate to win many of my events at the state level track meet. This past outdoor season drove me to my very best and I became a state champion in the 4x400 meter relay with my fellow runners. This, and the fact that my dad ran in high school as well, has pushed me to want to compete even more and I expect great times from myself in my last year as a high school runner.

I also play soccer for my high school, and a travel club, with a passion and use my speed to excel on the field. My success in track this past year has also driven me to join the football team for my high school, in the effort to help us have a successful season for the first time in a couple of years. My love for competition is forever growing and my passion for this sport is as well. This year my times improved significantly I think due to me training with the sprint team and learning more about the significance of form. Although I have some ways to go with my form, I believe that I can do amazing things in the future. I know now after my recent accomplishments, how much I want to run on the college level All I need is a college.
