Davin Tietz '24 Recruiting Profile

Being part of a team and competing is what I like most. I am a motivated athlete, who is determined, hard-working and coachable. I am also a competitor who believes in good sportsmanship. 

I have been part of a cross country or track team since I started junior high, but I've competed in soccer since before I was in kindergarten. I've participated both in school and on travel teams, which has taught me how to become a better athlete. 

Moving from Illinois to Virginia has been a good opportunity for me to work with coaches and other athletes to reach my potential. I really enjoy my travel soccer team and my high school track and field team, especially being on a 4x800m relay that finished as runner-up at the VHSL state meet this year.  I am currently working with a personal trainer, who is also my AAU track coach, to get stronger and faster for my junior year.

I know I have a lot to learn, and I want to be in a place where experts can teach me how to get better. I also want to be part of a team that encourages and pushes one another.  I believe that the teams I am on now have helped me become a better teammate and athlete, and I want to help others do that, too. 

I am not sure what I want to study yet, but I am hoping to find a career related to sports, and helping others reach their goals.
