My name is Jonathan Ramey and I am a senior at Cashmere High School in Washington State. I started playing sports at a young age because I was a very active child. I played little league soccer and baseball. Sports have given me a place to express my competitive nature and feel like part of a group of people that enjoy the same things. I working towards graduating high school while taking classes to push me towards a civil engineering degree in college. In college, I'm interested in taking business classes while pursuing my degree. By the time I graduate high school, I will have completed 4 classes in Spanish as well, which I'm considering continuing in college. I would like to learn more about studying abroad as well.
Going to state for high jump last year was one of the best experiences of my life. I didn't achieve my goal and only placed 10th out of 16 athletes, but the time I spent there was incredible. I got to compete and watch some of the best athletes in my division and made some new friends as well. I'm working hard to make it back next year and be even better than before. I've already got it set in my head to make it for all three jumping events rather than just one.
I love to compete and have a wide variety of interests that I think will help me to be a fantastic athlete for your school.
I have always been known around school as a very smart kid. During my free time during high school, I have been known to memorize songs with every country in the world, every state and capital, and every periodic table element. I've also learned to read braille, binary, and started learning Morse code. I have also been solving Rubik's cube and other related puzzles for almost 4 years now just as a fun hobby. My memory has always surprised people.
