Personal Statement

Hi,

My Name I Benjamin Matlick I'm a sophomore distance runner at Bishop Blanchet high school.

My goal in college is to race at a competitive level and reach nationals with my team for cross country. I want to push my teammates to be their best and send as many of us as possible to track nationals by the end of our collegiate running careers.

I can distinguish myself from other recruits through my work ethic, which is evident both in school and on the track. I also stand out from the pack because of my faith and confidence in my teammates - I believe they can always improve and I do my best to help my teammates succeed, both in running and in life.

In school and in life I am constantly being told what to do and how to live, but when I run I find peace and connect with my teammates. It makes me feel free. I want to run as competitively as possible for as long as possible, to hold onto that feeling of freedom.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
