Personal Statement

I'm a very individualistic person. I love being around people and I love being around friends, however I am very stubborn when being things done on my own, and I believe that's helped me grow not only as a leader, but just as a person overall. I started throwing my sophomore year, only because I got cut from my highschool's baseball team, I didnt make it. I decided to do track to stay in shape for the summer select season, however I found myself having more fun and having much more potential in track, so I stopped playing baseball after the select season and stuck with track. Originally I only threw discus, I only started throwing javelin my junior year. Grew about 40 ft in my first season and ended the season off with 167 ft at the state qualifying meet. Though I do take track very seriously, I do need to work on my grades and academics, I have a hard time with school sometimes. Despite this, I do know that school comes first and it is more important, so I'm working hard to get everything up. In college I'm planning to get my degree in either athletic training or physical therapy, and maybe a minor in psychology. I think the most important thing I've learned about myself in highschool so far is that anything really can be done as long as you just try your best and set your mind to it. My sophomore year, when I started the sport, I was only able to compete in 2 meets due to being academically ineligible, but my junior year I actually competed, and I was almost able to make it to state, I'm very proud of myself for that. I believe with my potential, work-ethic and coachability, I can compete at any college in the nation and find success.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
