Volleyball has been the sport I've fallen in love with since I began playing in Grade 7. Walking into those tryouts, I truthfully had no idea what I was doing, had to do, or what I would be getting myself into. Little did I know, this sport I spontaneously decided to start playing would be the sport that would carry me through to my graduating year of high school. Playing two years of "junior" volleyball across my 6 years of school play, and a total of 4 years of the 6 on the respective schools varsity team. Regardless of where my future takes me, volleyball will remain to be a hugely influential aspect of my life, however, ever since I began playing in Grade 7, I knew instantly, at the time, my long term goal would be to one day play at a post secondary level. Those days have come quickly. Volleyball is something I am extremely passionate about, it's always been a goal of mine to create tight bonds with fellow players on the team while maintaining a highly competitive, yet uplifting atmosphere during gameplay and practice. In athletics, my out-of-school sports, since Grade 7 have been completely limited to club volleyball, where I strive to become a more physically able athlete on the court through any means possible.
However, I am not a student-athlete just for the athlete part. Academics has also played an extremely important role in my development as a athlete, a student and simply as an individual. I have always strived for academic excellence, challenging myself to take the international baccalaureate studies... in French Immersion, through the three years in high school where I've had access to IB, it's been an incredible opportunity, preparing me for the academic requirements and time management which is demanded by the highly academic universities.
