Personal Statement

the same thing, I just added a few flourishes.

I’ve dreamed of competing in a high-level college or university volleyball program since I began playing for my local club team at 12. Volleyball has been my passion ever since, and the opportunity to play at the collegiate level would be a once-in-a-lifetime experience to grow both as an athlete and as a person.

I bring a high volleyball IQ to every game, with a focus on strong blocking and serving skills that I continually strive to improve. My teammates know me as a supportive, encouraging presence who always has their backs and works hard to help the team achieve its goals.  I am committed to learning, growing, and pushing my limits as a coachable and dedicated athlete.  When I am not in the gym practicing my technical skills, I can be found training to increase my explosive strength, foot speed, and agility as an athlete to help me perform at the highest level.  I also try to learn as much as possible by watching my sport and taking additional courses to improve my knowledge and understanding of the game.

I’m searching for a college that will challenge me both on the court and in the classroom—one that competes at the highest level possible. My goal is to develop as a player and lead by example, helping my teammates push themselves to achieve their best.

Beyond volleyball, giving back to my community is important to me. I volunteer with our local Rotary Club’s food drive and am involved with the Peace Draft Horse Club, where I help drive horses for various volunteer events that allow me to raise funds for youth and outreach programs in our community. Academically, I work hard to maintain a high GPA being awarded Academic Honors in my Grade 9 year and being on track to do the same this year.  I also work to support my classmates in their academic journeys in any way I can.

I am excited about the chance to join a college volleyball program that will encourage me to be the best version of myself and allow me to make a positive impact both on and off the court.
