Jonathan Companion '25 Recruiting Profile

Aloha, my name is Jonathan Hoakua Companion! Volleyball is a part of me, whether it's playing indoor, beach, or grass. My first touch was when I was 8 years old and I have been hooked with a love for the game since then! I liked the game so much that I joined a U12 girl's club team when I was 9 years old (no boys club in my area) and began playing competitively at age 10. 

I am currently a Junior and have mainly played as a Setter for my high school Varsity team the past 3 years. I have filled the Setter role in my Club team as well. I am thankful to all my coaches for their trust in me and for their ongoing support.

Yes, no doubt, height makes a difference on the court. However, I believe that my game IQ, skillsets, and work ethics propels my game to that top level. I have tremendous respect for the sport of volleyball. I am driven by its excitement but also humbled by it, consistently working hard to earn its respect. I look at each practice and game as a process to continually improve my skills. There is always work to put in, both on and off the court. I ask for the opportunity and look forward to sharing my passion for the game at the collegiate level. Thank you!
