To say it as simply and directly as possible, I love playing volleyball. It has been my passion ever since I started playing on my 7th grade middle school team. My goal is to play volleyball at the highest level I can, while constantly working to become the best athlete I can be. For the last ten years I’ve participated and excelled at a variety of sports, including baseball, martial arts, flag football, basketball, cross country, and of course, volleyball. No matter what the activity, I am one of the most dedicated and hard-working athletes you will find. As a soccer goalkeeper on a very competitive team for more than 5 years, I developed quick reflexes and reactionary skills. Ten years playing basketball and 3 years running cross-country have developed my speed, endurance and jumping abilities. And after eight years of martial arts training, I earned my black belt in karate, but equally important, I developed a solid base of strength, speed, explosiveness and power.
Building on those experiences from other team sports and individual accomplishments, my five years of club volleyball and two years of varsity high school volleyball have allowed me to drive toward my goal of becoming the best athlete and volleyball player I can be.
As I continue to progress my skills and build on my passion for volleyball, I am looking for a collegiate volleyball program that will support me in my efforts to become an elite player and a team leader both on and off the court.
While sports are a huge and important part of my life, I believe school is equally important. Academically I find myself most interested in math and science classes with science being my main passion. I have already taken AP classes in European History and Physics, and I am currently enrolled in AP US History, AP Language/Composition and AP Biology. While I love volleyball, my passion for education is just as strong. I love being challenged in the classroom because I feel that is when I am learning the most.
Curiosity drives virtually everything I do. In school I am always asking questions and wanting to know what new information I can learn. And on the volleyball court, I always wonder what more I can do to be the best I can be, which is why I pride myself on outworking everyone I see.
I am looking for a school where I can study Biological Sciences, achieve my academic goals, be a student/athlete leader and play volleyball against high level competition. Most of all, I want a school that gives me the opportunity to become a great volleyball player, a great student and a great person.
