My name is Ryan Steele and I am a setter for NCVC and Rio Americano High School in Sacramento, California. I started playing volleyball in 2013 and have been in love with it ever since. The camaraderie and fast-paced play are like nothing I have ever experienced. I have played in the Junior National Tournament three times, once competing at the club level with my 14s team and twice placing fifth at the open level with my 15s and 16s teams. This summer, 2016, I will be competing at Nationals with the NCVC 18-1s team. Currently, I am a junior at Rio and have played at the varsity level all three years, including starting the last two. As a freshman, our team placed second in the Sac-Joaquin Section (Div. II) and third in Northern California. As a sophomore, our team won the Sac-Joaquin Section Division II championship and placed second in Northern California. I have a 3.47 GPA (weighted) and aim to improve that as my junior year continues and into my senior year. I am a hard worker in the classroom and on the court. I bring intensity and dedication. I am a natural leader, and that, combined with my skill, coachability, and contagious work ethic, is why I believe I would be an excellent fit for your program.
