I have always been athletic and ambitious, receiving a Black Belt in Kajukenbo, a mixed martial art, at the age of 8, and playing many other sports throughout my young life. I found a higher level of passion and commitment to Volleyball in the Spring of 2022, during my freshman year. That first year, I was new but eager and willing to learn, being named Most Improved in our program. I went on to club Volleyball to continue learning and competing. My sophomore year, making the Varsity team, I began honing my specialty as our team’s Libero. I have continued throughout my career, primarily as a Libero, while working on my DS, Setting and Opposite Hitter skills, whenever my teams need me to adapt.
I found a true community in Volleyball, expanding from my high school team to club volleyball, across teams and levels of play. On the volleyball court, I am a positive vocal leader, understanding the importance of everyone’s role on the team and encouraging clear communication from the coaches to the quietest player. I feel I understand the importance of mental toughness, remaining strong but humble, being coachable - always willing to work to improve my abilities, and the importance of being a true team player.
I have also worked hard to maintain high academic standards, taking Honors and AP classes, and know that I want to pursue higher education in the Sports Medicine field. From my own injuries I see great value in the overall community that supports every athlete as equally important, and being someone who loves sports, especially volleyball, I can ultimately find a career supporting others as they pursue their dreams and goals as well.
