Hello, I’m Garrett Legner. I am a varsity setter for Farmington High School. I'm 5' 11, 170 pounds, and I'm currently in my junior year. I was first introduced to volleyball when I was around nine years old, it was for my mothers work league, so I didn't really get to play but I loved watching people run around the court and try to get the ball over the net. It wasn't until my freshman year that I really started to seriously pursue volleyball. I immediately fell in love with the sport and wanted as much of it as I could possibly get. I was put on the JV team as a freshman, but I knew that I had the potential to play on the varsity team. Throughout my first season I was always asking my coach if I could stay after for the end of the varsity practices, or attend varsity only practices. While training with the varsity team, I learned a lot and my coach pushed me really hard too. Club seasons also pushed me to be the best I could get. I first started at Husky Volleyball, but realized if I really wanted to get better I was going to have to sacrifice the relationships I had made and move to Northeast Volleyball, who play at a much higher level. Switching is definitely one of the best decisions I could have made. I am learning a whole new side of volleyball only making my love for the sport grow. I have now been starting my sophomore and junior year.
My goal is to play at a D1 school so that I am playing with people that not only love the sport as much as me but want to compete as hard as I do.
