I love volleyball! The first time I played volleyball was in sixth grade when I played on a co-ed middle school team. I fell in love with the game and my favorite thing to do was serving, which has now evolved into spiking. About three years ago a non-profit boys' volleyball club started in East Idaho and I was so excited to join. My first year we played against the local girls club programs. Then the next years we traveled to Utah to play in the tournaments there. We have now attended the 2023 USAV Nationals in Salt Lake City, and this year, we plan to go to AAU Nationals in Flordia. It has been amazing to see the club grow and to be a part of that. I love volleyball because it is so fun and competitive. I would jump on the chance to play anywhere because I love the game so much. The thing that I love the most about volleyball and sports in general is the mental journey. I have struggled with trying to be perfect and not making mistakes. I got so caught up in my head that playing wasn't fun anymore so I stopped playing. I was way too worried about what others around me thought, and I was getting all of my worth from volleyball. I got a sports psychologist this summer and he helped me so much. He has helped me realize that I am so much more than volleyball. The most important thing is that mistakes are ok. Mistakes make volleyball fun. I love all of the people that I get to meet and spend time with because of volleyball, especially the elementary kids that I have the opportunity to coach. My mom coaches an elementary/Middle School co-ed volleyball team in the spring. I love getting to coach and hang out with the kids, they are so funny and bring so much joy to volleyball. I love to play in the drills with them because they get so competitive trying to beat me. One of my favorite things to do in my free time is watch college volleyball. I have many favorite teams on both the men's and women's sides of the game. I enjoy watching the underdog team win. I want to win a national championship and become an All-American. I would the opportunity to play under a coach who has discipline in their gym and holds their players to a higher expectation, but also knows how to have fun. Having the opportunity to play volleyball is one of the best things to even happen in my life.
I consider myself to be a truthful person who will choose right over wrong and stay out of trouble. I want to go to a school that has a really good academic structure, but a solid volleyball program.
