I’m My name is Tim Matijevic and I am currently a Junior at Palatine High School in Palatine, Illinois. I was double rostered on JV and Varsity for my sophomore year of volleyball. I have 3 older brothers that have graduated from college. My brother Michael, graduated from Eastern Kentucky University with a degree in Fire Science. My second brother, Andy, graduated from St. Joseph’s College Seminary at Loyola University of Chicago and is currently at Mundelein Seminary to continue his schooling to become a catholic priest. My last brother, Dan, graduated from Lakeland University in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, with a degree in criminal justice. He is currently a deputy sheriff for McHenry County, Illinois. My dad is the assistant manager for fleet services for the catholic cemeteries of Chicago. My mom is a pediatric nurse and works night shift at Northwest Community Hospital.
I have been playing volleyball since 5th grade and have gotten better and better at it ever since. I watch as much volleyball as I can and I always watch my position to see what they do so I can mock them and be successful just like them. It has worked for me for the most part but I plan to get 100 times better than that. I work very hard in the classroom to be successful and I work hard on the volleyball court. My volleyball coach always pushes me to get out of my comfort zone and be a leader on the court. I work as hard as I can in the classroom, volleyball court and in the weight room.
