Personal Statement
My name is Fernando Michel Arpajou, and my home town is Buenos Aires, Argentina.
I am 18 years old, and a recent graduate of a High School in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I have been playing volleyball in the River Plate Club for eight years. I have been selected to play for the Argentinean National Team in my age bracket and have been a member for the past three years. During that time, I have travelled with the national team to international tournaments, such as the Canadian Invitational in 2012 and to Peru for the South American Tournament. Currently, I am training and preparing for the World Cup Tournament in Turkey later this year.
With my club and the national team, I have been able to perform very well. I have also won individual recognition, such as “best setter” at the 2012 Canadian Invitational Tournament. My position is setter and due to a spirit of sacrifice and hard work, I remain a solid member of the national team in anticipation to the upcoming World cup competition in Turkey later this year.
My goal in life is to study medicine and engage in programs to help the world community. I am searching for an institution to prepare me well for my medical career as well as a competitive volleyball program to help me grow as an athlete as well.
I am confident that I can excel in the class room as well as on the court. I am a team player and not afraid to work hard to achieve success. During my upbringing my parents taught the idea of “work hard and you can accomplish what your heart desires”. I am confident that, given the opportunity, I can study and play volleyball with positive results.
