Personal Statement
Hello, my name is Sabien and I'm all the way down under from Australia.
I started playing volleyball in 2017 and ever since I found out about a next higher level of play between high school and national I knew that was the place I wanted to be. I recognise it is significantly more difficult to achieve my goal, although, I am determined and will utilize any resource possible to connect with the programs and coaches in the states to get there. I am extremely keen to travel to America and participate in the NCAA and college volleyball programs as I always searched for a higher level of volleyball than in Australia where the funding and interest is minimal.
Reasons why I think I am an excellent candidate for a college volleyball team is that I am a communicator and a leader. I usually am recognised as the team captain and make my best effort to connect with my team and help them improve and lead them to a prestigious spot in a competition, yet, in the event I am not team captain I don't shut my mouth and stop, I strive to continue improving as a leader and as a team mate. After all, volleyball is a team sport and you can not win only improving yourself. But of course it is important to improve yourself; I am training every day on and off court to hone my skills as a volleyball player, enhance my athletic potential and maintain a good work effort physically and academically.
