Personal Statement
My name is Andriy Stapleton, I am 18 years of age and I stand at 6 feet 2.5 inches in height. I have been playing the sport of volleyball for the last 8 years and have become a well rounded athlete both on the court and academically. I have completed my 5 years of high school and now have 6 CXCs, 3 grade twos and 3 grade three. These exams are graded on a scale of one to five. I was the top student at my school for sports.
I first made the Barbados Youth volleyball team at age 14 and played in the 2012 and 2013 Boys Youth and juniors Cazova volleyball Championships where I was vice captain along with the bronze and silver medals finishes, respectively. In the 2013 Youth Cazova Volleyball Championship at the age of 15, I captained and lead my team to capture the Gold medal finish at the Caribbean championship in which I received best spiker, best digger, best server, and the tournaments MVP. In the 2014 NORCECA Boys Youth Championship held in TULSA, OK I was awarded the tournaments best spiker. I then vice captained the Barbados teams to such tournaments as U21 junior championships held in El Salvador and also the more recent U21 PAN AM CUP held in CANADA which I received the best opposite award for the tournament. I am currently the youngest player on our senior’s men team and I’m a high-flyer and very enthusiastic in a college program.
My goal is to be the best at what i do, also strengthening the team i play for. I am a great candidate and different from other recruits because I've been around the game my entire life, gaining experience step by step and also one of the youngest coaches, obtaining my level 1 coach certificate at the age of 17.
