Jose Angarita '21 Recruiting Profile

I am a very good candidate because I am a very adaptative person, also very disciplined, and responsible. I have a strong character playing, I like to organize the team for them to be able to hit comfortable the ball also I have a lot of experience and I am not afraid of playing at a high level. I am a really fast learner which impulses quickly both my academics and my athletics, also I have good listening skills which allow better communication with my teammates and my coach.

I have been playing volleyball for the last 6 or 7 years in which I saw a huge improvement in each area of the game. I am a leader on the court, I like the hitters to hit the ball comfortably and like to have good communication with each of them.  I have been playing at a university level with regional universities for the last three years and have won playing against them. I have a lot of experience and I am not afraid of playing at a high level being in the top fourth-best Colombian setters U19. Learning is a fundamental part of me as an athlete and academically, each thing my coach tells me I try to improve at and play not for me but for a team because I understand what being a setter is really about.  

I have a strong character and in a match, I will never give up until the last point, I like to grow with my teammates being each time better players and a better team overall.  I have been a student-athlete my whole life playing several different sports throughout my life and that hasn't affected my academics. I have the confidence I am a great fit both academically and athletic.
