Personal Statement
I acquired an interest in athletics as a result of growing up in an active household, and it instilled ideals in me that have defined my personality. Volleyball and racing are two of my favorite activities that I've participated in throughout my life. Volleyball has instilled in me qualities such as discipline, working under pressure, and collaboration. Running has taught me perseverance, dedication, and self-control. Running also helps me in volleyball by strengthening my body and performing for longer periods. Trying out different sports has also changed my outlook on life. I think that doing one's best will always provide the best outcomes and that if one is not giving it all, he should stop. This mindset has had a significant influence on my life, particularly in my academics.
I was first introduced to volleyball in 6th by my brother who started playing at the time. I was instantly captivated by the fast pace of the matches. Later on, in 7th and 8th grade I took part in two national events in which my team won 3rd and 2nd place.
Unfortunately, the pandemic came along and impacted me greatly in my performance. Luckily, I trained at home and was always active by running every morning. When we finally came back to school, I started working hard for my last season, which went well. I participated in an AASCA which is an international event for bilingual schools in Central America which my team won 1st place and now we are preparing for nationals.
