Personal Statement
My name is Michael Ramirez, and I'm from the Dominican Republic, where I currently live. I'm a junior at New Horizons Bilingual School. I come from an athletic family, but I never really connected with sports until I discovered volleyball. I started playing three years ago, and from the start, I loved it. Even now, my passion for the sport remains as strong as day one. Playing college volleyball is a huge goal for me, and I’m fully committed to making it happen. I consider myself a very competitive and coachable player who always listens and tries to execute what my coach asks. I believe deeply in teamwork, as my coach once said, “A big player can win matches, but a team wins tournaments”. Besides that, I also think every team member should be ready to lead when needed, I’m willing to step up and take on that role to support my team and be the leader whenever necessary, whether I’m the captain or not.
