Shane Engle '20 Recruiting Profile

Starting for a young age, sports has always been a constant in my life, whether it is soccer, basketball, or volleyball. My determination and work ethic sprouts from my early ages of playing soccer.  The long days of playing on a club team, and breaking past my barriers and fighting along 10 other teams mates has taught me a lot. It taught me about family, dedication, never giving up, and being a leader. Although I continue to play soccer from time to time at a high level, throughout the year volleyball is my passion. since playing volleyball, I have not been able to get it out of my mind. I often find myself replaying certain plays where I could've maybe jumped a little higher, set a little tighter,  or even just have been louder to keep the spirits up for the team. Some may even say I'm obsessed with volleyball since it is all I usually talk about as well. Being able to play in college will allow me to improve drastically through better competition and enjoy the sport of volleyball. I do aspire to be a professional volleyball player one day, but I am still taking everything one step at a time, and I am hoping that college volleyball will allow me to take a large leap towards my dream.
