Personal Statement
My name is Joan Munar Galmés, 20 years old from Spain. 6'3, 175 lb, outside hitter . I have always been passionate about volleyball because my dad was a beach volleyball player in the '90s, also my two sisters are one of the top junior beach and court volleyball players in Spain. That gave me the motivation to keep working and try to achieve all my goals. I´m a very active player on the court and I think I could bring a lot of positivity and encourage the team to be better, I never had problems with my teammates due I´m a very social person and I'm not scared to the unknown. I believe that a team needs trust between their partners which helps to solve many situations on the court. I have been playing indoor volleyball and beach volleyball for 11 years which I think is very positive because I had the opportunity to go through different ways of learning with different coaches and teammates.
I´ve been eight times Champion in Baleares region so I had the chance to play ten Spanish championships with different teams and been selected for the local selection (best players in region) five times. I play in my own category which is Junior and I also play with the senior team of my club all around Spain. I am open to any school and division to the club level. The things I will offer to a team: I work very hard, play with passion and enthusiasm, and strive to be the best I can be on and off the court. The goals and expectations I set for myself are high but can be reached with my hard work and dedication.
I have played college level beach volleyball in my sophomore year with Webber International University. We had an undefeated run as a team during the regular season. Reaching 3rd in nationals with my partner. I was (with my partner) undefeated during my whole nationals run.
