Nathanael Kong '24 Recruiting Profile

let me introduce myself, I am Nathanael Kong and I go to Northwood High School in MCPS. My primary position is outside hitter and became a starter my junior year of High School. Even though I have not been playing volleyball for very long (only 3 years) I have grown a very strong passion and love for the sport, it has taught me discipline on and off the court as well in the classroom. Throughout my junior year High School I have taken mostly honors classes which are Honors English 11, Honors physics, Honors World History, Honors Health, and currently taking Honors English 12 as a senior.

First and foremost, my aspiration is to excel both academically and athletically during my collegiate journey. I believe that a well-rounded education is crucial for personal and professional growth. By attending your institution, I aim to challenge myself academically and achieve high levels of academic success.

My primary collegiate goal is to immerse myself in a competitive volleyball program that fosters growth, both individually and as a team. I am extremely passionate about the sport and committed to continuously improving my skills. I aim to challenge myself at the collegiate level, pushing beyond my limits and striving for excellence on the court and off the court as well.

What sets me apart as a candidate is my strong work ethic and dedication to the sport. I firmly believe that success is born out of hard work, perseverance, and consistent effort. I am willing to go the extra mile to refine my skills, attending extra practice sessions, engaging in specialized training, and seeking feedback from coaches and teammates. I am an incredibly driven individual who embraces challenges and welcomes opportunities to enhance my game.

Moreover, I am a versatile player who can contribute in various positions on the court. I have experience playing as a outside hitter, and defensive specialist. This adaptability allows me to not only contribute to the team's success but also to fill gaps as needed. I am always ready to take on different roles to fulfill the team's requirements and perform to the best of my abilities.
