Jason Dunn '25 Recruiting Profile

I am currently 17 years old, going into my senior year as varsity captain of my high school team. Our team ran a 6-2 last season with myself and my teammate as the setters. This year I ran a 5-1 with my Club Team and was named MVP of my club team. 

My whole life I have been an athlete playing many different sports.  I’ve played baseball, lacrosse, football, and soccer. I also golf often, and I am an avid Spike Ball player.  I played soccer, from 4 years old all the way up to my junior year when I stopped to focus on Volleyball.  I discovered Volleyball my freshman year in gym class. All it took for me was one day in gym, and I was instantly in love with the game. I tried out for the high school team the same year and made it. I then joined a Club team as well, and by sophomore year was a setter for the high school varsity team.  At the end of my sophomore year, I was given the Rookie of the Year Award and also given the title of co-captain of the varsity team. 

   What makes me different from many other athletes is I have an extreme amount of endurance. I don't tire easily. I have a powerful jump serve, and I am fast on my feet with good reaction time. I also love to have fun playing. I enjoy helping others and teaching the game to newcomers. I listen, and I'm very coachable, wanting to learn and continuing to grow. That’s my motivation. There is no off season for me with Volleyball. I am a very well rounded, loyal, and versatile athlete who will always go the extra mile and who truly loves the game. Most of all I love the team atmosphere that often feels like a family to me.

     Though I am not 100 percent sure of my college major yet, I am very interested in business/finance. I envision myself one day with a job in that field while coaching Volleyball on the side, and of course continuing to play.
