I began my volleyball path during 8th grade year with no prior experience. After making the top team in Junior High, COVID-19 unfortunately ended that season for our team. My interest grew quickly for additional opportunities to challenge my capability with volleyball, so I joined Cincinnati Attack during the fall of my Freshman Year (2020-21) as a middle hitter. As the club season progressed, I realized my passion for the volleyball, our team, and our community. My Freshman year and Sophomore year I started as a middle hitter at Saint Xavier Hight School as well, with great success and an undefeated season. The GCL (Greater Catholic League) in Southwest Ohio is one of the most competitive leagues in the nation. Several of the CGL Varsity teams are ranked in the top 5 in the state and top 10 in the nation. I was able to learn from our varsity leaders the discipline and team camaraderie necessary to be successful long term.
The positive experience from both Cincinnati Attack Freshman year and Ohio Premier my Sophomore year, and Saint Xavier as the starting middle blocker drove me to seek out other opportunities to find more challenging competition. During the summer before my Sophomore year I attended Elite Camps, National tournaments, and set up a workout program for myself.
I wanted to gain a higher level of competition and develop myself so I have chosen to concentrate on volleyball. Leaving soccer was difficult because I have been playing competitively since the third grade. I have enjoyed a lot of success with soccer including being a part of a very successful high school team. I made the decision to focus on volleyball to become a better player and create an opportunity for myself to play at the next level. Competing at a high level in both sports helped me develop in many ways. I will continue to find ways to challenge myself athletically and academically to become the best student athlete for the good of our team, my family, and myself.
During my Junior year I became one of three Juniors to start on the varsity team, as one of the two middle blocker positions. Our team excelled during they year winning all but one game until the regional championship. St. X was ranked #1 in Ohio and top 10 in the nation, via MaxPreps. My Cincinnati Attack Black team shared some success as well. We will compete in the AAU National Championship in Orlando Florida during June 29 - July 4.
