Jai Benjamin '24 Recruiting Profile

Hello Coaches! My name is Jai Benjamin and I'm a 6’2” outside/middle hitter from Burlington, Ontario, Canada, graduating in June 2024. I am currently a senior in high school with an overall 85% average. 

I started playing volleyball in my sophomore year in high school and I joined my first competitive club team in 2023. As a starting Middle Blocker in my junior year, my high school reached the semi-finals of the HSSAA Playoffs. In my senior year, as a captain and Outside Hitter, our team reached the quarter-finals of the HSSAA Playoffs. 

I currently play as an Outside Hitter for the U17 Pakmen Black based in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.

When it comes to choosing a location for college/university, I am looking to stay in Ontario, Canada or travel to the United States on an athletic scholarship. I'm working hard on keeping my grades up with the hope of obtaining an academic scholarship. 

In addition to playing volleyball, I have been a National level trampolinist for the past four years - with my highest achievement winning a gold medal at Elite Canada. I've also played high school basketball in my sophomore and senior years. 

I believe I will be a valuable addition to your team as I am recognized as a leader, motivator and goal follower in every team sport I play for. I take the initiative to recognize that every team needs someone to keep their team motivated and willing to accomplish new goals and achievements.
