Hello all, my name is James Brust I am a junior at Abington Heights High School. My goal in life is to find myself as a hardworking individual that can wake up every day, get my work done, and show others what they least expect. I have been introduced to the sport of volleyball 3 years ago when my brother started playing for the varsity team. Through this sport, I have learned how you have to dig deep out of your comfort zone and self-evaluate yourself all the time to become a better player. My goals to get out of my years in high school are to become the most discipline and hardworking student-athlete I can be. My grades are a big priority to me but as long as I am trying my hardest I will never complain. My freshman year, which is known as the developmental year was cut very short due to covid. This set me back so I had to go out, get a volleyball on my own, and teach myself how to practice the basics without a court. After missing that year I had to play junior varsity as a sophomore and I was able to work my way through the lineup to varsity the same year. Now I am still as determined as I was that freshman summer, as I go to the gym at 5 am every day, show up to practice 30 minutes early every day, and finish practice by asking the coach what I can do better.
