I have payed many sports over my life, many I liked and some I did not. However, when I found volleyball, I was instantly entranced by the grace, power, and perfection of the sport. It is sad to say that I have only been playing for about two years, due to Armstrong only offering a high school program for volleyball, but putting in hours and hours and days of hard work has allowed me to progress quite rapidly. My sophomore year I made the all section 3rd team. Going into my junior year I am striving to make the 1st team and make playoffs with my team. In the short time that I have played, I ,and my team, have shown nothing except for resiliency. Trying to lead a team that did not know how to play two years ago, as well as me learning how to play as well, to staying with teams that have been playing together for years is my biggest accomplishment. I play all year around in tournaments, and pick up volleyball multiple times a week as well as having practice. I feel that my dedication is unmatched by most other players. I feel that I can fit on a team quickly because I am a versatile and selfless player. I am more than willing to play other positions to help a team win and fit a certain role. The team is more important to me than myself.
Volleyball for me has been a life lesson, as well as an outlet for my athletic satisfaction. Volleyball has taught me discipline, respect, and reflects life lessons for the future, and I want nothing more than to have the chance to play at the collegiate level and continue doing what I love.
