Jackson Decker '23 Recruiting Profile

My name is Jackson Decker I am a Senior at Meadville Area Senior High School in Meadville Pennsylvania.  I am looking for an opportunity to extend my volleyball career at the collegiate level.  Last year during my Junior year I had an opportunity to play at a competitive level helping lead our varsity team to a undefeated regular season, winning our district and region, unfortunately losing in the state championship at Pennsylvania State University.  It was a 5 set match where I 33 kills on 84 attempts.  I received the honor of being placed on the first team region 1 as well as the all-state team for my performance during the 2021-2022 season.  If you are familiar with my previous personal statement, it is almost a complete repeat of my previous statement.

 I have had the opportunity to play club volleyball for Tool City Volleyball club going to nationals five out of the last six years . This past year we came into the tournament ranked  20th. We were undefeated in the tournament until losing in the Gold Medal Match at the club level, earning a silver medal.  Not bad for a group of guys from northwestern Pennsylvania after 6 practices together.  I was also honored by being placed on the all tournament team for my performance at nationals this year,  a repeat accolade from last year.

I am currently maintaining approximately a 3.5 out of 4.0 GPA in high school taking all advanced or advanced placement classes.  I plan to play varsity basketball as well this year.  I am also involved as manager of the girls volleyball team, assisting at practices as well as games. I’m involved with my church. In my free time I enjoy playing piano and guitar and writing music. At this time I  plan as to  pursue  music business in college
