My name is Davin Stevenson. I am a junior, class of 2022, and this is my fifth year playing volleyball. As soon as I touched a volleyball I knew this was my sport, and after just a few practices I decided I would be a setter. I had played other sports before but none had sparked a fire in me like volleyball. Currently, I am the starting setter for the Southeast Region Volleyball (SERV) 17s club team. Every moment on the court I am putting my all into the game, and I don't let myself get discouraged if we lose; I see it as an opportunity to get better and grow.
I helped to create a varsity boys volleyball team for homeschoolers in my area. We just finished our third season, playing against local private schools. Many on the team were new, and I had to take a leadership role during practices and games to help us be successful. As a setter, that is an important skill to have.
I am dual enrolling at Tidewater Community College and have completed 33 credits with a cumulative GPA of 3.91. I am currently taking 17 credits while working a part-time job, playing club volleyball, and participating in my school's drumline. I plan to pursue a degree in Biology with a focus on biomedical sciences. With my skills as a setter and my drive to always improve, I would be a great asset to any team.
