I have always loved being in the water, but swimming alone never appealed to me. When I saw other kids tossing balls and doing swimming drills that I have never imagined, I instantly fell in love with water polo. I started swimming at the age of 6, but I didn’t start playing water polo until I was 9. Over the years, I’ve been part of several water polo and swimming clubs bringing home numerous medals including bronze from Nationals in 2023 as part of Team BC Provincial team and numerous gold and silver medals in Western conference games. I have also officiated many gold medal games as member of Water polo Canada. Each teaching me valuable lessons about the game that I love and the future life that I can be part of.
I’m committed in following my coaches’ guidance to improve constantly and I thrive on pushing my limits alongside my teammates. I have had the great opportunity to be coached by different Serbian Olympic coaches in the past and at present. I have attended a few Tony Azevedo camps, and a Camp hosted by Ted Minnis at Harvard University among many other camps. Having been part of many teams, I excel at building trust with those I play with and achieving consistent results. My teammates describe me as a great friend, a leader, selfless, and occasionally funny, but serious when it counts with great offensive and defensive strategies. My coaches see me as coachable, hardworking, and tenacious; qualities that I strive to uphold. My goals are straightforward: I want to make a D1 team and train hard to prove that I deserve a spot on a winning roster.
At the end I would like to mention that my academics are extremely important to me.
