I've had the dream to play water polo in college most of my life, it started when I was only 8 or 9 years old. I started with a club swim team and then begged my mom to let me try water polo. The club water polo team practiced at the same pool, and swimming and playing with a ball at the same time looked fun! I have played with BWPC for about 8 years, being a part of the 10U, 12U, 14U, 16U, and now the 18U team. Up until summer 2019, I played other sports in addition to polo like football and soccer, but I have recently refocused myself to strictly water polo to be the best player that I can be. I have been to 6 junior Olympics with BWPC and I plan on attending this year and next year as well. My main positions are two meters and the 5 wing, but my coach usually uses me as an utility player. I am also a strong left handed player who can help out with and create plays. I think that I would be a great asset to your future roster and I believe that I could make a serious impact in the water.
In addition to playing for the BWPC, I also play for the Garces Memorial High School Rams. Before I played for Garces I spent two of my high school years at Liberty High School, a public high school that doesn’t have polo. But after coming to an understanding that polo was my passion, I transferred to Garces the beginning of summer 2019. During our fall 2019 season my team and I won league and were in the semi finals for both valley and state. In our valley run, we played Clovis West and lost by 3. As for our state game, we played Buchanan and sadly lost by 1 point.
My goal is to make it onto a Division 1 or 2 collegiate water polo team at a school a with a good Civil Engineering program. I understand engineering is a demanding major, and it may take more than four years to earn my degree while playing water polo. With this goal in mind, I am focused on becoming the best water polo player that I can be and the best student-athlete that I can be. I feel that I would be a good candidate for any college water polo team because of my strong left handed shot, great understanding of the game, and being a utility player. I would also be a great candidate because of my commitment to academics and my will to succeed in life.
