Hello, my name is Cole Winston. I have been playing club water polo since I was 9 years old, and it has become my passion. I am a starter on my high school varsity team and play all offensive positions (set, flat/driver, wing, point). I typically play set guard on defense. On my club team, I also play set guard and I am a strong utility player, capable of playing any position. Water polo was an easy choice for me because I love team sports and everything about being in the water. I have excelled at swimming since I was very young, qualifying for numerous championships and awards. Ever since I started playing water polo, I have loved it and have always imagined playing at the college level. I have a great understanding of the game. I excel at passing, shooting, driving, making fast breaks and getting open to shoot. I also excel at making quick and accurate decisions on the spot. Because I am a fast swimmer and have participated on a swim team since the age of 6, I am a strong driver and am very good at sprinting. I also have strong defensive skills which is why I typically play set guard. I am strong and can get myself up out of the water to block shots and prevent the set from getting the ball. In addition, I am a Varsity swimmer on my high school team.
I am currently in 9th grade. I am going through this process because I know I want to play water polo in college. Academics are also very important to me and I prefer to attend a college that is a good fit for me where I can obtain a great education. I have a 4.0 GPA and scored in the 99th percentile on the PSAT. I am taking all Honors and AP classes.
Thank you for taking the time to read my profile. I am excited to bring my passion, skills and dedication to your water polo program. Feel free to contact me for any additional information.
Thank you,
Cole Winston
