Hello my name is Seanan Mc Manus, I am a passionate right handed water polo player and play in the center position. I live in Sacramento California and attend Bella Vista High School. My goal is to play collegiate water polo and I am focused on achieving this goal through hard work and dedication. I am in my 1st semester of high school as a Senior. For all three years of my high school water polo career I have been on the varsity team and was fortunate to play in section finals as a freshmen. Since my sophomore year I have started and am proud to be part of a a team that has been undefeated for two out of three years in conference games. This year our team moved up to division 1 to play against the top teams in our area. To enhance my fitness, I am in a conditioning program with my water polo club and I participate in high school swim in which I've been selected for the varsity team for 3 years running.
My club water polo team is American River Water Polo Club (ARWPC). I've played with this club since the beginning of my water polo career since the age of 10. I've played with the same group of players for approximately 4 years the past four years I have seen these fellow players evolve into my closest friends and better water polo players today.
I've received following awards, as a sophomore I received the Varsity Most Valuable Player (MVP) and as a junior I was awarded Offensive MVP. During both my sophomore and junior year I have made the all Conference League team. During my sophomore year I made first team all sections for division 2 and this year as a junior year I was selected on the second team all sections for division 1. My club team placed third in the 2015 Gold bracket in Junior Olympic's. Last year I was selected for the Olympic Development Program, Central Zone team that placed third in the national tournament for our age group (1999).
My academic goals are either pursuing a degree in Business Administration or Criminal Justice. I am applying to coach our youth program at the end of the month to help improve our clubs future. I have assisted with these programs in previous years. By participating in this activity I hope to further develop my water polo and leadership skills . I am actively involved in volunteer activities in my local community and have been a member of the Fair Oaks Youth Advisory Board (FOYAB) for two years The activities of the members include volunteering at public events and helping the under privileged in our community. During middle school, I was a member of our local 4H club. where I was an active member and completed community service hours and other projects to benefit under privileged in our community.
I am fortunate to have parents and coaches who support my academic and polo goals and will strive to be a valuable member of a collegiate water polo team.
I have recently bee voted league MVP in the central valley conference league. I was also placed on the division one all section team with 9 other players from all the teams in division 1 section.
