My name is Aden Hernandez. I am a Senior at Summit High School in Fontana, California. I really enjoy playing water polo. While playing, I have learned to work as part of a team and have improved my skills. I play water polo at my high school and also play for Rancho Tsunami Water Polo Club. I have been playing for Tsunami for the past 5 years. I currently play on their 18u team. We have played in multiple tournaments throughout the Inland Empire and Orange County areas. I have also played in Junior Olympics as a 16u player and again this year as an 18u player. I was also fortunate enough to go with my 18u team on a training trip to Croatia this summer. I have enjoyed playing in each event and look forward to each opportunity I get in the future.
While attending Summit High School, I have played water polo and swim. I was unable to play my freshman year due to covid shutdowns. For Water polo we are division 6 and for swim we were/are division 3(sophomore year), division 4(junior year) and will be Division 3 this year (senior year). While playing water polo I received multiple awards. My sophomore year I was made team captain and received honorable mention for All-League. My junior year, my team and I, for the first time in school history, made it to the second round of CIF for men's water polo. I was team captain my junior and I received All-League honors and All CIF honors. I also received MVP for both my sophomore and Junior years of water polo. For swim, my sophomore and junior year, I received All-League for the 200 Freestyle. My Junior year, I also received All-League for the 200-freestyle relay and made it to CIF swim finals. At swim finals my relay teams received 6th place for the 400-freestyle relay, 3rd place for the 200-medley relay. This was a fun experience. I look forward to my senior year playing for Summit High School.
I believe academics are important. I need good grades to get into college and be successful in life. I currently have a cumulative GPA of 3.30 and will continue to improve my GPA to the best of my ability. I have received Honor roll recognitions for 1st and 2nd semester of my Freshman, Sophomore and Junior years at Summit High School and understand the importance of being a scholar athlete. I would like to continue my academics in college and plan to have a career as a First Responder. I have been inspired by multiple people in my life to seek a career in Fire or Police. I want a Career that matters and will make an impact on my community.
I am an active member in my community. I work as a Lifeguard for the city of Fontana. I enjoy doing this type of work. It gives me a sense of pride to go to work and make sure I am keeping everyone safe. I am certified by the Red Cross. Having a job as a lifeguard has taught me responsibility to my community. I plan to continue this position as long as possible.
I appreciate your time and consideration.
