Luke Arias '25 Recruiting Profile

My name is Luke Arias, I am a Junior at Washington High school in Fremont California. I am the starting Varsity Goalie, and have been since the 2023-24 season. Before that I was our school’s starting JV Goalie. Over the past 3 years I have played at West Valley Water Polo Club and attended Masters water polo at Cal State East Bay and Ohlone JC. To me this sport represents a way for me to push myself as an individual as well as a way to work towards something larger than myself with a group of my peers. I love how much of an impact this sport has had not just on myself  but also my family. My sister is also training to be a goalie alongside me and it is such a gift to be able to watch how the sport has created a more confident and competitive version of herself. My father also began to play after I did, for the very first time in his life he took up the difficult challenge of playing Masters at Ohlone with people that have years of experience, as a group the water polo community is always supportive of each other and always tries to bring eachother up alongside them which is another reason I have really enveloped myself within it. I am searching for the opportunity to play water polo at the college level because ever since I’ve discovered this sport I haven’t found a point in time where I am not searching to play against people with more skill than I myself have. I am trying to better my skill set as an individual player and acquire leadership skills to better my ability to be a part of a great team.
