My name is Kai Scarlet and I'm a 6'3" 190lb attacker who plays for Trojan Water Polo Club in Manhattan Beach, CA. I was a member of the Coastal Zone ODP team for the past 4 years and also a participant in the 2018 ODP National Team Selection Camp. I am was a two year starter on the Trojan Cardinal "A" 16U team that placed 4th in the Platinum division at JOs last summer. Currently I play on the Trojan Cardinal 18 U team as a starting attacker.
I am looking to play for a high level, competitive college program where I can make an immediate contribution.
I play attacker on the 1-2 side. Strengths that I have on offense is good anticipation skills, awareness, spacing, ball handling and a good shot.
Going from defense to offense my anticipation to counter usually puts me in a good spot to score or set up my teammates.
My awareness on offense helps me find the open man, or weak spot in the defense. My spacing makes it easier for my teammates ot score, and driving on the 1-2 side is harder to defend.
My ball handling skills help me easily draw fouls and make passes without delaying or turning the ball over.
An accurate and fast shot helps me pull defenders to my side and opens up my other teammates.
If I am fouled at around 5 meters I will shoot and rarely miss. On defense I am a good zone and press defender. I rarely get beat on 1 on 1 moves like a turn or a drive.
In the zone I communicate what corner I am blocking. If I am caught in a bad situation I will let my teammates know so we can readjust without getting scored on.
