I became interested in water polo before my high school even had a program. In the summer of 2017 when I officially graduated middle school, I was enrolled in a water polo summer camp at my local aquatics club. I fell in love with the sport right off the bat, as I was motivated to find a sport which I had prior experience with from my years on my swim team(which I have continued to pursue on the side for 7 consecutive seasons). Mountain House High was founded in 2014 and started their First Water Polo Team my Sophomore year of High School. I have played as goalie for the varsity team both my Sophomore and Junior Year and loved every second of each game.
I am very fortunate to have such a caring, supportive family to push me to do my very best day in and day out. The bond we share has made me an all around competitive person, as I strive to make them and myself proud for all that we have done to achieve this level of happiness. I am able to use my competitive, hungry spirit both in the classroom and in and out of the water through a variety of ways.
I try my hardest to better myself in the class, and in turn I am rewarded with excellent grades I can show proudly show to our state's universities. In the water as well; I always push myself to first in our swim sets, constantly work on my technique, and give help others that are in need of it.
My plan for the remainder of high school is to finish out my medical and Spanish elective pathways, as I see myself studying for a career in medicine in college.
Additionally, I hope that I am able to play water polo for my last high school season, if done so in a safe environment. It is my ambition to accomplish these two goals to help prove myself as a valuable asset academically and athletically for college recruiters. And although the CoVID19 virus continues to be a major setbacks for many student athletes including myself- I will give it my all to persevere and make it out of high school as fulfilled as possible. And hopefully, after I finish out my time at Mountain House High as strong as possible, I would be able to pursue my dream of playing water polo at a collegiate level. Overall, I am very passionate about this sport, and would hate to say goodbye to it so soon when it's something I truly love.
