Mark Maloney II '12 Recruiting Profile

I am a 6'0" 180lb, Senior starter and on the leadership team, left-handed, Varsity utility player, my Sophomore season I played the 2-meter position, was Team Captain, and MVP of the Foothill High School Frosh/Soph team.  In spring I completed my third season of water polo and swim team in the Foothill Aquatics program.  I have just started my Senior water polo season.  Although I am a late-comer to the sport, I have enjoyed both water polo and swimming competition very much.  I have been able to contribute and grow significantly during my freshman through junior years.  I have played water polo in the off season for our local club, SOCAL, for the past three seasons as well in order to help me get up to speed with the competition.

I realize I have started this recruiting process late, along with my sport, but I still want to pursue playing competitive athletics and am open to exploring opportunities at all divisions.  I am looking for a college where I can obtain a solid education and be academically challenged.  I have always had strong grades and scored well on my SAT.  I love reading and comprehension so scoring a 710 in the verbal category did reflect that passion.  I live in California and am open to exploring schools outside of the state which have water polo or swimming.  A school in a suburban or rural area would be enjoyable, but not necessary.
