My goal for becoming a collegiate water polo athlete is to advance my level of play year after year while continuing to enjoy the sport I love! I am an extremely hard worker who thrives on challenges. After becoming one of the top players in Utah I knew I needed something more to keep pushing myself. In June 2023, my family relocated us to California. I began playing for Coach Jack Kocur and Pride Water Polo Academy and enrolled in Oaks Christian High School.
The transition to California hasn't been easy but I am a hard worker with immense patience. I am "trusting the process" that has been presented to me. Every day I have done extra water polo exercises and have improved my swim speed. All this hard work has been paying off as I was a member of the ODP Youth Coastal Zone National Championships and I qualified for the High School CIF-SS in 2 swimming events (100 IM & 100 Fly). I have refined my vertical, horizontal water polo skills & IQ since being in California.
Academically, I understand what it means to be a student-athlete. I work hard to keep my studies at a strict balance with my sports endeavors. The transition to the Oaks Christian's college preparatory courses has also been a challenge. I have advanced my learning in the various coursework at Oaks Christian while continuing to maintain my high GPA.
Water polo has done a lot for me in my life. I have developed an outgoing personality and formed great friendships. It has taught me how to be confident, a leader, and an effective communicator. Water polo has also taught me not to shy away from hard work. I am a very dedicated and coachable athlete who is always seeking to improve my skills. I dedicate 110% to each practice, continually pushing myself and my teammates to push harder, and I quickly apply corrections and constructive criticisms. All these characteristics will help me be an asset to any collegiate water polo program while successfully achieving my academic pursuits.
