Hi I'm Jack Sardo. I've been playing water polo since I was around 5 years old, and its my dream to play water polo for a division 1 school team. I'm always trying my hardest and giving it my all at every practice, game and tournament no matter what. My academic goals are to be a personal physiotherapist/personal trainer for a sports team. I practice 6 days a week, while keeping up with school work and extra curricular activities outside of water polo. I'm a very organized person and I'm always on time and ready for any challenges that come my way. I think its super important for a team to have great chemistry and a good bond as a team inside and outside of the water. I play for a team from Hamilton, Ontario called Southwest Sharks, this team has incredible chemistry and we are always having a great time which is crucial in a team I believe. I have trained with all ages and I look up to my elders who have gone far with water polo and for the younger ones I've been a role model and set a good example for them. I love the sport of water polo and am very involved with the community and my club. My high school team came 1st overall in the 2021 and 2022 season.
I play on a team called Southwest Sharks with the head coach who is also the head coach of the junior national team, and last season (2022) we placed 5th in Canada. I trained with the RDC (regional development group) for Ontario. In June, I played on a California team called Imperial Water Polo. I trained with them for a couple of months and went to compete at the Junior Olympics where we placed 15th. I want to enrich my water polo career by playing for a division 1 team.
I come from a pretty athletic family, my dad was on the junior national team for Canada and still plays today . He inspired me to play water polo and ever since then I've loved playing. My mom played on a varsity tennis team which she won a championship at. My sister also received a scholarship to Long Island University for water polo. It would be such a shame if I couldn't play my favorite sport at school while I continue my academic career and I look forward to seeing where my career playing water polo will take me.
