The reason I play water polo and dedicate so much time to it is my passion for the sport. I’m talking about a sort of desire for greatness and occupation for the mind and body. I feel like
it’s something you’re either born with, and if not, it falls on you to look for it within and find the
motivation to achieve your goals. The way I see things is that if I’m not constantly doing something which is extremely difficult or energy consuming or even stressful, I am not pushing myself to be the best version of me. I believe that my hard work will forge a pathway towards my dreams of playing water polo at the international level one day. This pursuit involves my good behavior and respect for my teammates, my coaches, my family and friends, and anybody helping me along the way.
I also believe in my resilience, perseverance and dedication, as I am able to adapt to difficult and challenging experiences as they arise without giving up on my desire to excel. By pursuing water polo and the HPA program, I hope to make Team Ontario and the National Team in the following years. I hope to play international teams and get the opportunity to travel more. I am ready to work hard. I know it will take a lot of sustained and continued effort on my part, and I will rise to the challenge. Playing water polo helps me develop leadership skills in an environment of other successful, hard-working, and highly motivated athletes. I value my team and my club and being part of a community of peers with high standards and personal ambitions.
I also endeavor to continue pursuing strong academic results in parallel to my water polo activities. Even if I can sometimes get bored in school, I strive to obtain good grades and to work hard in all my classes. I believe that balancing school and sport is important because it forces me to learn how to organize my time, prioritize and ensure to make time for proper rest in between. I maintain a 4.0 GPA. I believe maintaining strong academic and athletic standing will help me secure valuable opportunities in the future.
