Personal Statement

I have had many coaches since the start of my water polo career and this has allowed me to learn how to adapt and learn many new things inside and outside of the pool. I have always been a strong swimmer and water polo caught my eye early on. I developed a lot of team-based sport skills from soccer and football at a younger age, so water polo fit exactly what I was looking for in a sport. I have learned a great amount from playing water polo and my experience as both the youngest and smallest player on my team and as the strongest player, team captain and leader of my team.   All of my training and experiences have been very valuable and helped me to become a strong team player and leader both in and out of the pool.

My high school career so far  has been focused on high academic achievement and continuing to develop as an elite water polo player. My goal throughout high school has been to pursue a higher education whilst still playing water polo.  My size has has seemed to be what stands out about me, I am not the biggest person but I do not see that as a disadvantage, it just means I have to be able to adapt and play to my strengths. I know that I have what it takes to overcome any obstacles thrown at me and I am willing to do what it takes to become the best student athlete that I can be.
