The day I started walking, my Nana put a softball in my hand. As a one year old, I was just fascinated with this big, yellow ball. I had no idea that I would fall in love with it and how it would shape my life! Because I lived internationally for 4 years, my love for softball has afforded me the opportunity to play in the United Arab Emirates, India, the Philippines, and Singapore. I have learned so many wonderful things about myself because of softball. While playing in the UAE for my school, I learned that I am versatile. I had to become the catcher for my team because no one else had any softball experience. I learned that I am resilient. Even when my team is not being the most successful, I give my all and leave my all on the field. Even though I have had 4 high school coaches in my last 3 years, I work hard to help my team grow. I learned that life and sports are all mind over matter. My softball IQ is high. My coaches have told me that I can see plays on the field before they happen. These are all assets that I will take with me to any college team.
I have always wanted to stay involved in sports even after I graduate from college. This desire has lead me to pursuing a career in athletic training or physical therapy. I had to overcome an injury during my sophomore year, and the care I received confirmed the goal for my professional life. I want to help others stay healthy while pursuing their dreams be them athletic. With all of the lessons I have learned from softball and life up to this point in my life, I know that I have the skills and mindset to be an asset to your team and program!
