Sophia Bristow '25 Recruiting Profile

Hello my name is Sophia Bristow. After being introduced at a young age and falling in love with softball its been all I can remember.  I joined a community ball team and played there for three years. Being on a team and interacting with my teammates are some of the fondest memories I look back on. Throughout these years I really learned how serious I wanted to become and how I wanted to grow as a player. I then joined Calgary Kaizen Softball where I was able to travel with my team and play on a more competitive level. I have been playing with Kaizen for 5 years now. Throughout my softball career, I became interested in pitching. Pitching forced me to think and strategize the game more. I am in control for moments and must think of what I need to achieve to help my teammates. Being a pitcher has taught me how to work hard, and how to deal with challenge. I think this has allowed me to help my teammates as well. I am able to be communicative and supportive and lead my teammates through tough situations. I have found how to support others on and off the field. 

Throughout my career I have been surrounded by individuals who have shared their experiences with softball at a post secondary. The idea of playing at a high level while furthering my education has become a goal of mine. I would like to play and learn about softball at the highest level possible. To be surrounded by players who force me to be the best possible, and coaches who share knowledge and set expectations to push me. Softball has pushed me throughout my whole life, and I feel as though that is something I am passionate about pursuing while furthering my academics. Learning more about the sport and being competitive is my goal for my future. I want to learn and become better. I want to be surrounded by individuals who force me to push myself and be better.
