Over the years I have been a multi-sport athlete, playing hockey, basketball, volleyball and softball. Whenever a person would ask me which sport I like the best, I didn't even need to think about my answer because I knew softball was my passion and a game I would love to pursue. My biggest athletic dream is to continue playing softball as long as I can, and at the highest possible level. Ever since my older brother started his post secondary experience, playing golf in the States, I wanted to follow in his footsteps. Softball has been in my blood for 8 years, and I love everything about it. Games, practices, workouts and most importantly the girls that I am playing with.
During my many softball seasons, and also any other sports, I have been taught and shaped into becoming a versatile athlete. I have played every position on the ball diamond and still to this day I am comfortable and excited to play wherever my coach puts me. I am also a very competitive person which not only helps me strive to become a better player, but also helps me set an example for my teammates; pushing them as well to be the best they can be. I love feedback from coaches because I learn so much from listening and watching others, and soak in as much information as I can to become a better player. Acknowledging the feedback I receive, makes me want to work that much harder into perfecting my athletic skills. I will, without a doubt do anything in my power to help my team be successful because I will never forget what my hockey coach once told me; "A bruise lasts a week, a championship lasts a lifetime". Whether I'm playing or sitting I know I am part of a team and that we win and lose together, no matter what.
Growing up I always put 100% into my school work, because I had high expectations for myself and never wanted to settle for anything less than my goals. In Junior high I achieved "Honors with Distinction" all three years which was always a huge goal of mine. As well I participated in many math competitions over the years and always finished in the top percentage around the globe. Academics is genuinely, very important to me because it is something I'm very proud of, knowing I personally worked hard and achieved the grades I wanted.
