Hello, my name is Ryan Sweet, I am currently a senior at Medicine Hat High School. I hope to pursue Diagnostic Medical Sonography in college. I am a hard-working and determined student and athlete and I put 100% into what I’m passionate about, whatever that may be. Academics are very important to me, so I only take the highest stream classes, and achieve 89% or higher in all of them.
Ever since a young age, I have always been passionate about sports. I started playing ringette when I was 6 years old and I have been playing ever since. I have also played soccer, basketball, volleyball and badminton, but nothing compared to softball. I have been playing softball since I was 9 and I have developed such a strong passion for the game. When I’m not out on the field, I am in the batting cage or the gym, constantly getting stronger and working on my skills. My biggest goal right now is playing softball at a collegiate level and I will do whatever it takes to achieve that goal. My primary position is catcher, and my secondary positions are second and third base. That being said, I am a strong utility player and I have the skills to perform in any position that I need to. I always have a positive attitude and a smile on my face. I am accountable and I attend every practice, game and extra team-building or conditioning event. I work hard to better myself and my teammates at every practice. I am a very coachable athlete.
I play softball because I love the game, not because my parents want me to, not because my friends want me to, because I love the sport. I have such a passion for this game and I will bring that passion to any team that I play with.
