Abby Maetche '24 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Abby Maetche.  I am a 18 year old softball player from Olds, Alberta, Canada.  I played softball for the Olds Pistols U17A team, then the Calgary Kaizen U19A team and trained with the Alberta Elite winter team.  I am currently playing for the Vernon College Lady Chaparrals. I love being a pitcher and playing 1st base as well as hitting.  Competing in provincials throughout my softball years and and now playing college softball have been some of my biggest highlights playing softball so far.

I strive to play at the highest level possible and am determined to play my best at each and every practice and game. I pride myself on being a good teammate and coachable player. Continuing to play at a university or college level is my primary goal for softball.  I am a dedicated athlete and while softball is my main sport focus, I have also played hockey, shot put, discus, and enjoy downhill skiing and various watersports as well.

Although sports are very important to me, I also value academics.  I am an honor roll student and look forward to becoming an asset to a university team that values both athletics and academics.  Thank you!
