Over 6 years on the field, and I knew that I would always be searching to play for the next level. I’ve been involved with a multitude of sports since the age of 4, and I would like to continue playing into my college years. I come from a long line of collegiate athletes, including my parents and grandparents, and want nothing more than to follow in their footsteps.
Each season out on the field comes with its unique sets of challenges and triumphs . My goal while playing collegiate softball is to cherish all the wonderful memories, and learn from the inevitable mistakes that come with playing for a college team. While I am a passionate player on the field, I am also a highly driven academic student. I want to make the most of my education and want to attend a school where I can pursue a career in the medical field.
When it comes to my performance in softball, I like to consider myself a versatile player. At the plate I combine speed and power. During my Freshman year I batted .426 in the number 2 spot. Not only did I advance a numerous amount of runners, but I was also one of the leaders in RBI’s. As a natural lefty my primary defensive position is the outfield but I’ve spent most of my career as a catcher.
What makes me different from other athletes is my ability to lead on and off the field. Good performances from a team don’t end when you leave the locker room. A successful team needs dedicated players who are willing to put in the time needed to succeed. The way I embody these necessary qualities is by putting in the extra practice hours during both the on and off season, as well as being a positive voice out on the field.
Confidence within a team is essential, and the way to build this confidence is with a strong voice of leadership and encouragement. I believe that I can be the voice that leads a team to victory. As the saying goes, a team is only as good as its weakest link. With me as a player on your team, I can ensure you that not one link will feel weak. My longtime success in both academics and sports makes me a fantastic candidate for not just your team but your campus as well. Listening to instructions, taking constructive criticism, and having good relationships with my coaches are some things that I value extremely. Also, I value having strong ties between my teammates. For me softball is not only a hobby, but a way of life. I can hardly wait to bring my positivity and commitment to your team.
