Early on in my childhood, I realized that family and softball were my passion. I quickly learned from my dad that I had to work hard to earn everything on and off the field. I started training with him when I was six and he still helps me to improve in every aspect of my life, both on and off the field.
My biggest accomplishments were making all-stars every year and having fun out on the field. I was always one of the youngest in those games playing against much older girls and far more experienced. I loved the competition and playing at a high level. I started travel ball at the age of nine and that’s when I knew I wanted to pursue a career in softball. I learned to make adjustments as I went through the different divisions of travel ball. One of the adjustments was switching from a right-handed hitter to hitting left. I have learned to hit for average and power, and learned how different pitchers want to make different strategies in getting left-handed hitters out. I have been a starter all my years in travel ball hitting my first home run, a grand slam, when I was 14. I made the varsity team my first year of high school, through that year, I was ranked through Maxprep.com 1st in HR’s, Slugging, and RBI’s in my conference and ranked in the top 30 in the same categories in AZ. I plan to keep working hard for a scholarship in academics and sports.
In choosing the school that I want to attend, I would like it to be a small town environment, however it will not be the determining factor. Church, family, school and sports will be what I will be focusing on in college. Being close to family will be a top priority. I would like to major in health medicine. I currently have a 3.7 GPA and have been an honor roll student and on the principal’s list. I will continue to work hard because I know for sure it will pay off.
